How the numbers work
The cost model
depreciation + fees + insurance + energy + maintenance
Purchase price is deliberately excluded from that total — adding it to depreciation would count the acquisition twice. It is shown separately as the cash you need. Financing interest is excluded too, because it depends entirely on your down payment and rate. Illustratively, ₪150,000 over 60 months at a hypothetical 7% generates roughly ₪28,000 of interest — enough to erase any discount you negotiate.
Depreciation is list price × (1 − residual). Energy is recomputed from your kilometres, fuel price and — for the PHEV — your charging share. Consumption is budgeted above headline lab figures: locally, the Elantra Hybrid claims ~4.4 L/100 km but measured ~5.43 L/100 km in testing.
Reliability and safety are analyst scores on a 1–10 scale, not manufacturer or Euro NCAP scores. Safety deliberately penalises an old five-star result, because Euro NCAP protocols get harder over time.
